The Scent of Murder is the third remarkable installment in Felicity Young's historical mystery series featuring Dr Dody McCleland, autopsy surgeon. It follows A Dissection of Murder and Antidote to Murder, both five star reads, which impressed me with their rich /5. 'If a black dog appears along the old corpse way, the route a funeral procession takes to the churchyard, it is thought to be escorting the dead soul to the afterlife. A black dog sighting without a funeral procession, however, is supposed to foreshadow death.' For Doctor Dody McCleland, the unearthing of an ancient skeleton in a dry riverbed is a welcome break from the monotony of chaperoning.
The third novel, The Scent of Murder, released in , takes McCleland out of London to the country, where the discovery of what seems to be an ancient skeleton requires her medical expertise to reveal the truth. Review: THE SCENT OF MURDER by Felicity Young Posted on Febru by bernadetteinoz You know that a fictional character has really gotten under your skin when horrid things that happen to them keep you awake late into the night. Yet another awesome installment in this series. I liked this one even more than the last. In this story, my favorite historical medical examiner is on a vacation that goes terribly awry in the form of a set of bones, a lord up to no good with the ladies, and a workhouse where bad things are happening to poor children. Felicity Young was born in Germany and educated in the United Kingdom whilst her parents were posted around the world with the British Army. In the family settled in Perth. Felicity trained as a nurse followed by an arts degree. In the family moved from the city and established a Suffolk sheep farm in Gidgegannup WA.
